Unique Design

The Alter-Ego desk is the flagship Metalix Desk. It features an “L-Shape” design and wood inserts on the front, making it the envy of any office space.

Wood Material

Melamine has become extremely popular in South Africa, and we understand why. This man-made material often mimics the look (and sometimes the feel) of wood but is manufactured in a factory. It is durable, easy to maintain, and has a sophisticated finish that complements any of the powder coating colours offered.

Steel Material

At Metalix, we use mild steel tubes and plates. This heavy, durable material gives Metalix furniture its signature look. We believe steel can be beautiful, as demonstrated by the sharp angles and unique designs of the Metalix desk range.

Care and Maintenance

Sun Damage – Melamine is not highly sensitive to sunlight, but we do not recommend placing your furniture in direct sunlight.

Cleaning – A damp (never soaking wet) cloth will suffice. Dry the surfaces thoroughly afterwards. While melamine is not highly sensitive to liquids, it is important to wipe it dry immediately if any spills occur. To remove stains, use mild soap and warm water gently.

Exposure to modest to moderate amounts of water will cause the wood top to expand. Raise the humidity of the air around the wood to increase the moisture level in the wood and cause it to expand. Please ensure proper care when cleaning the desk or in case of liquid spills.
